Agro-economist, senior researcher and development officer at CIHEAM Bari, PhD in Policies for Sustainable development, MSc in Rural resources and countryside management. She has twenty-five-year experience in research, training and development cooperation work on rural development, sustainable and organic agriculture in EU and developing countries, with deeper expertise in the Mediterranean region and focus on rural economy diversification, sustainable and inclusive value chain development, place-based and eco-region approaches to territorial development. Current fields of interest and work also include rural women’s empowerment and meaningful participation to agri-food value chains and rural economy, agroecological transitions, organic districts and sustainable organic food systems. Author of various scientific contributions, with participation to different EU-funded research projects. Member of the CIHEAM Bari Secretariat of the Mediterranean Organic Agriculture Network (MOAN). Focal point for CIHEAM Bari Institute of CIHEAM corporate Working Group on Gender.

Daniel Falta, PhD is an associate professor Animal Husbandry at the Faculty of AgriSciences, Mendel university in Brno, Czech Republic. Since 2005, he has been working at the Department of Animal Science as researcher, junior and later as a senior lecturer. Since 2014, he has been holding the faculty position of Vice-dean for External Affairs and Internationalization. He is a specialist in cattle breeding systems, especially dairy cattle production systems, and the associated improvement of milk production efficiency. Dairy production is the most prominent livestock industry in the Czech Republic (ICAR – International Committee of Animal Recording). He also deals extensively with animal welfare issues, Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) and is a pioneer of biological control systems against flying insect infestations in dairies in Central and Eastern Europe.

Adrian Asanica is full professor and Dean of the Faculty of Horticulture in Bucharest since 2020 and member of the Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences since 2016. From 2012 to 2020 he acted as vice-dean on research, managing the International Conference „Agriculture for Life, Life for Agriculture“ (section Horticulture) and the ISI coted journal Scientific Papers Series B. Horticulture as General Editor. In numbers, he is the author and co-author of 25 books, publishing more than 170 scientific papers (58 ISI indexed), he is author of 7 plant varieties and participated in 28 international research projects (responsible for 18 of them) and 30 national projects (director at 7 projects). His area of expertise is related to fruit growing, pomology and breeding. He is experienced in vertical training systems for berries, developing single or multicordon shapes for blueberry, chokeberry, gooseberry, currants in open field and as protected culture in micro(tunnels), contribute in perfecting the blueberry, raspberry, blackberry production techniques in pots and varieties evaluation in pre and post-harvest stage.
